What is kept while you read

The page is a static file. No cookies, no analytics, no ad trackers. We cannot know what you read. To count visitors, though, your browser sends a random number it made itself, plus the display language, every 45 seconds while the page is open. That number carries no name, contact or device details and is deleted within minutes; only daily totals remain. So that one place cannot inflate the count, your IP is kept as an irreversible hash for that day only.

Only what you send

If you report a correction, leave a line on an entry, write a "letter to my future self", or make a licence enquiry, that content is stored on our server. Even then your IP is kept only as an irreversible hash and the original is discarded. There is no name field. Browser type is kept only to the level of "Chrome". A line you leave is shown to others only after a person has reviewed it, and a letter can be opened only by whoever holds its number. Corrections are anonymous by default; an email address is taken only if you want a reply.

To have it deleted

Write to [email protected] and everything sent from that address is removed — actually deleted from the database, not merely flagged.

Kept on this device only

Your reading position, folded-screen state, saved entries (my timeline) and last visit date stay in this device’s browser storage and are never transmitted. Your birth year and anything typed into an experience live only in the tab’s memory and vanish when you close it. Clearing this site’s data in your browser removes all of it.

Ask more (A.I)

A question you write under "ask more" goes, with the entry’s title and part of its text, through our relay server to an A.I service, and the answer comes back. Questions and answers are kept for 30 days so the same question can be answered again. To prevent abuse your IP is counted for one day as an irreversible hash. Please do not put names or contact details in a question. A.I answers can be wrong; report an inappropriate one with "Report inappropriate content" right there.

What leaves your machine

Fonts load from Google Fonts and your IP appears in that request. If that bothers you, open the file offline — everything reads without the fonts. Sponsor buttons only go anywhere when pressed.

If you send an enquiry

A licence enquiry is sent by your own mail client. That mail sits at [email protected] and is deleted within 24 months of being handled. You may request access or deletion.

If you use the app

The Android app from Google Play opens this same web page. The app collects nothing of its own and asks for no location, contacts, photos, camera or microphone permission. Install and crash statistics are handled by Google Play under its own policy.
